Several years ago, a local orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Tom Winters, and his wife, Dr. Becky Moroose, were enjoying dinner and drinks with friends at one of their favorite restaurants, when concurrently they shared an epiphany, “Wouldn’t it be great to create a Cheers-style restaurant and bar for family, friends, locals, and visitors to Orlando?” asked Becky… and Tom agreed! As the managing member of a real-estate partnership with holdings across from Orlando Health, Tom had deep insight into the Downtown South District, and knew a restaurant and bar was much needed for the area. Through personal contacts, Tom partnered with Greg Allowe, a long-time hotelier and restaurateur who specializes in independent, boutique properties, and over the course of many months of brainstorming and fine tuning, Delaney’s Tavern was born.
Located directly across the street from Orlando Health, known locally as ORMC, and situated in Delaney Park, Florida, Delaney’s Tavern will fill a much needed gap for restaurants and bars in South Downtown Orlando. As a New American Tavern, Delaney’s specializes in “friendly fare & spirits”, providing patrons stylish cuisine in both small plates and shareables while serving amazing wine, cocktails, and a wide selection of craft beers.
